The rooftop patio and bar at Kevin Gillespie’s (Gunshow, Revival) latest restaurant, Cold Beer, opened over the weekend for dinner and drinks. Cold Beer takes up nearly 7,000 square feet and two stories at the Edge apartment complex along the Eastside Beltline in the Old Fourth Ward.
At 130 seats, the partially covered rooftop patio includes low and high-top tables, a small bar, rail seating overlooking the Beltline between Edgewood and Dekalb avenues, and a campfire-style lounge area. It also features a small kitchen with a dumbwaiter system originating from the main kitchen below.
Cold Beer’s rooftop patio offers the same 15 dishes and corresponding list of cocktails, beer, and wine as the main dining room. However, Gillespie told Eater Atlanta last month that the patio “will evolve over time” and might eventually offer a separate snacks menu.
To access the roof, people must first check in at the host stand inside the restaurant. As with the ground floor patio, the rooftop is first-come, first-served.
