The north metro Atlanta city of Dunwoody will soon have its fourth English pub when the Duke opens on Ashford Dunwoody Road later this month, a restaurant representative tells Eater Atlanta. The pub is located between the historic Spruill House and the Residence Inn.
The Duke is part of the pub-centric Dunwoody Restaurant Group (DRG), which also owns Ye Olde Dunwoody Tavern, the Royal Oak, Iron Horse Tavern, the Bat and Ball Club, O’Brien’s Tavern, King George Tavern, and the Black Swan Tavern.
DRG is the brainchild of British expat Huw Thomas, who ran a pub in England until 1986 when he moved to the United States. According to DRG’s website, Thomas designs his pubs in either the “London pub” or “country pub” style and decorates each with antiques shipped directly from England.
The Duke plans to serve “traditional British and American cuisine,” along with a “multitude of cold draft beers,” including “perfectly poured” pints of Guinness.
Eater Atlanta reached out for more information on the Duke and an opening date.
