A second location of Midtown’s health food-focused restaurant MetroFresh opens to the public on Wednesday, August 21, at One Midtown Plaza on Peachtree Street. The original MetroFresh, owned by retired actor Mitchell Anderson, resides in the Trader Joe’s-anchored Midtown Promenade complex on Monroe Drive.
“MetroFresh Uptown”, located in the lobby, plans to provide free breakfast, lunch, and tapas samples for tenants and office workers at One Midtown Tuesday, August 13 through Thursday, August 15, as the restaurant ramps up service before the public grand opening.
The restaurant includes a full cocktail and coffee bar and seating inside and on a patio in the adjacent plaza. One Midtown is less than a block from the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Arts Center, and a short walk from Arts Center MARTA station.
Anderson had previously opened a second MetroFresh in 2011 at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It closed in 2013. The original location continues to remain a popular spot for a quick and healthy meal of freshly-made soups, salads, and sandwiches, along with larger entrees in the evenings. Like the Monroe Drive restaurant, MetroFresh Uptown will also serve beer and wine.
Hours beginning August 21: Open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a tapas hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Correction, August 9, 10:00 a.m.: A previous version of this story listed free breakfast, lunch, and tapas samples, starting August 13. Those samples are for tenants and office workers of One Midtown only. The public opening changed from August 16 to August 21.
