Alon’s Bakery plans to open in Buckhead

A third location of Atlanta institution Alon’s Bakery and Market opens next year in part of the former Twist restaurant space at luxury mall Phipps Plaza, Tomorrow’s News Today reports. The bakery and market, serving a similar bread, pastry, sandwich, and coffee menu as its North Highland Avenue and Dunwoody locations, also includes a patio. [ToNT]

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream opens at the Whole Foods complex in Buckhead soon

Jeni’s opens its fifth metro Atlanta shop on October 10 at the Buckhead Market Place on West Paces Ferry, according to a company spokesperson. The ice cream parlor resides next to the newly opened late night taco restaurant, Velvet Taco, in the Whole Foods-anchored complex. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. during the October 10 opening, the ice cream shop on West Paces Ferry will dole out free ice cream. The first 50 people in line get a bag full of Jeni’s swag. A Midtown Jeni’s location inside the Coda development at Tech Square could open by the end of the year. [Official]

CMX Cinebistro opens Friday at Halcyon in Forsyth County

CMX CinéBistro at the Halcyon development in southern Forsyth County opens to the public Friday, September 27. The dine-in theater complex includes ten screens and reclining seats in each auditorium serving a full-service food and beverage menu as well as a sports bar and lounge area called the CMX Stone Sports Bar.
