The legendary and celebrity frequented Forsyth Street strip club Magic City teamed up with Atlanta’s Sublime Doughnuts to create a limited edition peaches and cream doughnut, branded with the famed shoe modeling establishment’s logo.
The collaborative doughnuts are $3 each and currently available through September (or while supplies last) at both Sublime locations in Home Park and North Druid Hills and at Magic City’s food window, where the kitchen also doles out some of Atlanta’s best wings nightly.
As far as how this particular doughnut came to fruition, Sublime owner Kamal Grant tells Eater Atlanta that after years of conversations with Magic City’s director of brand marketing, Daryl Mapp — a regular customer of Sublime’s Tech Plaza location — he was finally able to convince Mapp to co-create a sweet treat for the club.
“It’s summertime. And, you know, Magic City...peaches. Georgia is the peach state,” Grant explains of his thought process behind the doughnut’s creation. “And, I heard a rumor that the Atlanta R&B group 112 was inspired by Magic City to make the song “Peaches & Cream.”
Grant’s recipe, which he claims creates a “really fresh, light doughnut”, uses peach wedges tossed and slightly macerated in sugar. The doughnut is then filled with whipped vanilla cream cheese frosting and stuffed with a peach wedge before powdered sugar is sprinkled over the doughnut and a cutout of Magic City’s logo.
“This collaboration represents a first-time foray into a unique dynamic of Atlanta culture, where urban entrepreneurs impact culture from unexpected directions,” Magic City’s director of marketing Katrina Fuqua and Mapp say in the press release. “Meet the sexiest doughnut in Atlanta!”
Both the Home Park and North Druid Hills Sublime shops are open 24 hours a day. Expect doughnut flavors like s’mores, Nestle crunch, A-town mocha, salt and vinegar, and red velvet to be on the menu along with ice cream and coffee.
