California-based breakfast and brunch restaurant the Waffle Experience opens a location at the Works development off of Chattahoochee Avenue in northwest Atlanta next summer, according to a press release. And everything on the menu, from breakfast dishes and bloody marys to sandwiches and salads, incorporates waffles.
The Waffle Experience, founded by Marine corp veteran and chef Michael Donoho, was featured on the Travel Channel show Man v. Food and takes up residence within Chattahoochee Row, considered the “main street” of the 80-acre development. Neighboring businesses along Chattahoochee Row include brewery Dr. Scofflaw’s Laboratory and Beer Garden and a second planned location of Fox Bros Bar-B-Q.
Once open next summer, the Waffle Experience will feature both indoor and outdoor seating and a walk-up window in which people can order to-go drinks as part of the open-container license at the Works.
The Waffle Experience has three locations in Sacramento, Folsom, and Elk Grove, California.

In addition to Dr. Scofflaw’s Laboratory and Beer Garden and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, the Waffle Experience joins forthcoming food hall Chattahoochee Food Works at The Works complex. The 22,000-square-foot food hall and test kitchen is a collaborative effort between James Beard Award-winning chef and “Bizarre Foods” host Andrew Zimmern and Robert Montwaid, the creator of luxe food hall Gansevoort Market in New York City. Stalls begin opening at the food hall this fall. The Works also includes a one-acre park called the Camp and the Spur, a small linear park area within the complex.
