Dessert and cupcake bakery In My Fillings opens Saturday, November 14, on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in the Gwinnett County city of Suwanee, according to a press release.
The “create-your-own” cupcake bakery is owned by Charlise Johnson, who is competing on the current season of Food Network’s Holiday Wars. Johnson has also competed on the network’s Cake Wars, finishing in second place during the 2016 season.
Customers ordering from In My Fillings select cupcake flavors, followed by fillings, icing, and toppings. The bakery also sells chocolate chip cookies, vegan peanut butter cookies, and fully prepared six-inch strawberry and Birthday Bling cakes.
Once open, In My Fillings will offer cafe seating with a television and drinks, along with online ordering and delivery via Postmates.
“Right now COVID-19 restrictions limit some of what I can offer, but I want this to be an environment where our community can feel comfortable stopping by with their families and sharing treats with friends,” Johnson says in a prepared statement.
Johnson, who studied computer science at UNC-Chapel Hill and worked as a database developer in Gwinnett County, began her professional baking career in 2013.
Open Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Masks highly encouraged.
