Buford Highway Taiwanese teahouse and dessert spot Tea House Formosa closes Wednesday, November 18, after four years in Doraville, according to announcements on Facebook and Instagram.
While no official reason is provided, the closure announcement alludes to the ongoing pandemic, asking people to continue supporting small businesses and giving a “shout out” to health care workers and researchers for “leading the way” and working to “help us get back to living our normal lives.”
Tea House Formosa, located in the same complex as Yen Jing Chinese Restaurant and next door to El Rey Del Taco, serves pots of loose leaf teas and butter and milk teas, along with desserts like matcha cheesecake and an oolong cream Napoleon.
All retail items in the shop are currently 10 percent off. The first 20 orders each day through Wednesday receive a complimentary tea tin with the choice of color. Those interested in purchasing teas and other items from Tea House Formosa are asked to call the shop directly to order for pick-up.
Eater reached out for more details on the closure.
