An Atlanta-area location of fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant the Hummus and Pita Co. opens Saturday, November 21, on Olde Perimeter Way in Dunwoody. It’s the first of three locations planned for the Southeast by Premier Kings, Inc., which operates Burger King and Popeye’s franchises throughout the region.

The Hummus and Pita Co. serves pita and laffa sandwiches and gyros, falafel, shawarma, hummus bowls, and side dishes, like couscous and Moroccan beans. Desserts include the restaurant’s Chickpea Chiller shakes, baklava, and hummus-based chocolate schmear.

Founded in 2011, the Hummus and Pita Co. has locations in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Michigan, with additional locations planned for Alabama, Ohio, and Los Angeles.

Food hall the Hall at Ashford Lane opens next spring just up the road from the Hummus and Pita Co. inside the former Henredon Furniture store at Perimeter Place (soon to be renamed Ashford Lane) on Olde Perimeter Way. It features nine restaurant stalls offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and cocktails from the food hall’s bar.

In other Dunwoody dining news, the city just approved the Dunwoody CARES Al Fresco Grant reimbursement program. The grant helps restaurants and bars offset the costs of weather-proofing patios to extend outdoor dining during the pandemic by assisting restaurants and bars with the purchasing or rental of items such as tents or outdoor heating elements.

Open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for dine-in service, takeout, and delivery. Online ordering available and via the Hummus & Pita Co. app. Masks highly encouraged.
