It appears Buckhead sushi restaurant Doraku is now permanently closed at Buckhead Village District, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. The Atlanta location is no longer listed on the restaurant’s website and the phone number for Doraku is not in service. Customer review site Yelp also lists the restaurant as closed.
Doraku reopened in May for takeout and eventually dine-in service at Buckhead Village. The restaurant opened five years ago at the luxe retail complex off of East Paces Ferry Road serving a variety of sushi and Japanese hot and cold plates, along with sake and cocktails. Doraku includes two other locations in Hawaii and one in Miami Beach.
Qing Mu Noodle also appears closed at Buckhead Village. Like neighboring Doraku, the phone number is no longer in service and Yelp lists the restaurant as closed. Qing Mu opened in 2014 at the complex and served a selection of Vietnamese noodle dishes, pho, and bánh mì on its menu. There is one other location in Hawaii.
Both restaurants have been removed from the Buckhead Village District website, but it’s unclear why or when Doraku and Qing Mu (part of the Aoki Restaurant Group) closed at the complex.
Eater reached out for confirmation on the closures and more details.
Earlier this month, Indian restaurant Humpty Dumpty’s in Norcross closed citing the crippling financial strain caused by ongoing health crisis. Humpty Dumpty’s opened in 2019 at Global Mall on Jimmy Carter Boulevard with a menu centering around vegetarian egg dishes. The owners hope to reopen elsewhere after the pandemic.
