Ozzy Llanes opens a second location of his popular tiny house-based Cuban sandwich shop Cubanos ATL in Cumming, Georgia, early next year. The new shop resides in the parking lot of the Cumming Marketplace shopping complex, next door to Jax Fine Wine and Spirits.
Llanes first opened Cubanos ATL this summer on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs inside a tiny house he designed and built himself. For the Cumming location, Llanes handed off the framing of the tiny house to a professional company, but plans to put the finishing touches on the sandwich shop once framing is complete.
“In October, I began to scout potential areas for a second tiny house location. It did not take me long to decide on a location in Cumming, GA, off of GA-400 exit 14,” Llanes says in a press release. “I have a great network of friends in Cumming, and my wife and I have always loved the area. I’m excited to open our second location there, along with providing more jobs to the neighborhood.”
The menu for Cubanos ATL features three sandwiches: a traditional Cuban called El Miami; the El Tampa with roast pork, ham, salami, pickles, and Swiss cheese; and the El Pollo chicken sandwich mixed with aioli and topped with pickles and Swiss cheese. All sandwiches are created using family recipes and come served on La Segunda Central Bakery bread — the oldest Cuban bread maker in the United States. In addition to its sandwiches, the shop also serves breakfast and Cuban coffee and coffee drinks.
