Twisted Soul Cookhouse teams with the Tzedakah Project to hand out free meals
Chef Deborah VanTrece and her team plan to hand out free meals to those in need from her Huff Road restaurant on Thursday, May 14. The event is part of the Elephant Initiative from The Tzedakah Project, founded by Babs Midtown owner Randy Adler in order to help communities in need during the pandemic. The Elephant Initiative provides meals to contractors, gig workers, sole proprietors, and others who now find themselves out of work due to COVID-19. Thursday’s event takes place at Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. People must register online to arrange for a meal and pick-up time. Rising Son in Avondale Estates closes temporarily until June
Rising Son, the Avondale Estates restaurant owned by Hudson Rouse and Kathryn Fitzgerald Rouse, is temporarily closed until June 3. The couple posted about the month-long “gone fishing break” on Instagram saying they would reopen, but were taking time to “relax, regroup and meet with staff in weeks to come to start bringing them back.” [Instagram]
W.H. Stiles Fish Camp reopens May 13 for takeout inside Ponce City Market
The restaurant, owned by chef Anne Quatrano, reopens on Wednesday, May 13, for takeout. People can order online or by calling 678-235-3929. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Quatrano reopened both Star Provisions and neighboring fine dining restaurant Bacchanalia for takeout last week. [Official]
Aziza, Falafel Nation, Rina, and Bellina Alimentari reopen for takeout May 18
Tal Baum’s restaurants, Aziza, Falafel Nation, Rina, and Bellina Alimentari, are reopening on Monday, May 18, for takeout. Each restaurant will offer limited menus for curbside pickup and takeout. Aziza’s menu changes daily and includes multi-course meals and a weekly Shabbat dinner that must be preordered for pickup on Fridays at the Westside Provisions District restaurant. Wine is also available. Rina at the Ford Factory Lofts on Ponce features family-style meals, some of the restaurant’s regular menu items, and a backyard grilling kit, complete with skewers, salad, and sides. Patio and to-go window on the Beltline open for orders. At Bellina inside Ponce City Market, the Italian restaurant offers family-sized meals, including pasta kits, lasagna with meatballs and a salad, and an antipasta box with schiacciata, charcuterie, cheese, marinated olives, marinated artichokes, a salad, and a bottle of wine.
