The Original Hot Dog Factory opening five new Atlanta locations
Dennis McKinley is expanding The Original Hot Dog Factory to five new Atlanta locations, along with four locations in Philadelphia and others planned for Birmingham, Houston, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Detroit. The restaurant and McKinley have frequently appeared on the Bravo reality series “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. New Atlanta locations will open at Southlake Mall, Sugar Loaf Mills, Marietta Square Market, Perimeter Mall and Cumberland Mall, according to the press release, joining the original Smyrna restaurant and downtown Atlanta location near Georgia State University. Amici Italian Café opening at Pinewood Forest south of Atlanta
A location of Italian restaurant and pizzeria, Amici Italian Café, is opening at the sprawling Pinewood Forest development, 28 miles south of Atlanta. Pinewood Forest features a 25-acre village square, and is located across from Georgia’s largest film production studio, Pinewood Movie Studios. Amici’s menu includes a variety of “gourmet” pizzas, wings, flatbreads, sandwiches, and salads. Along with its outdoor patio, the restaurant will also include live music and games. Twelve other restaurants are planned for Pinewood Forest’s Village Square, including Braise, second locations of Pancake Social and Barleygarden Kitchen & Craft Bar, and Honeysuckle Gelato. Dozens of bakers and restaurant owners to host Father’s Day bake sale for racial justice
Dozens of Atlanta bakers, chefs, and restaurateurs are participating in a Father’s Day bake sale meant to raise awareness for racial justice. The bake sale, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, at the central food hall inside Ponce City Market, includes boxes of baked goods filled with cookies, bagels, biscuits, cakes, and tarts from shops, chefs, and restaurants such as Little Tart Bakeshop, Star Provisions, El Ponce, Just Add Honey Tea Company, Tiny Lou’s, Aziza, and Proof of the Pudding. Each box is $5, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting Color of Change, an online racial justice organization comprising of nearly 2 million members.
