Gastropub There on 5th opens in Midtown
The owners behind There Gastropub in Brookhaven have opened a second location in Midtown. The aptly named There on 5th is located at the corner of 5th Street and West Peachtree in the former Barrelhouse space. Like the Brookhaven restaurant, expect There on 5th to feature a similar menu, which includes everything from soups, salads, and burgers, to crawfish etouffee, tuna tartar flatbread, and pesto pasta. Currently open Tuesday through Saturday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. A pig roast is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, on the patio. [Official]
Banshee is back open with its “drive-thru” service and pints of pepperoni butter in East Atlanta Village
Following a three-month closure, Banshee on Glenwood Avenue in East Atlanta Village is back open with its “drive-thru” takeout service and pints of its popular pepperoni butter. The dining room remains closed for now. As for the drive-thru menu, it consists of select items from Banshee’s dinner and dessert menus and other dishes chef Nolan Wynn described to Eater Atlanta in March as “comfort food”. It also includes the option to purchase pints of the restaurant’s popular pepperoni butter, often served with fry bread. Each pint costs $10. People can order online for curbside pickup. Ethiopian restaurant Abol Cafe reopens on Buford Highway
After closing for renovations in June, Abol Cafe has reopened on the edge of the Plaza Fiesta shopping complex on Buford Highway, across from Vietnamese restaurant Nam Phuong. Abol Cafe is currently open daily from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and offers both takeout and delivery via UberEats, GrubHub, and Postmates. [Instagram]
A Monday night vegan popup returns to A Mano in Old Fourth Ward
Vegan popup Happy Seed is back at A Mano in the Old Fourth Ward on Mondays in July, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering takeout and curbside pickup. The Latin-inspired menu changes weekly and features vegan sandwiches, snacks, and entrees made by chef Reid Trapani and sweets from mother-daughter bakery business La Dolce Madness. Tranpani is currently working to get Happy Seed on board with home delivery meal service Feed ATL, too. [Official]
