A second location of the super popular vegan pizza joint Plant Based Pizzeria opens next month in Sandy Springs, Tomorrow’s News Today first reported. Plant Based Pizzeria opened its original location last year on the edge of Virginia-Highland in the former Rocco’s Pizza space along Barnett Street.
Located in the Huntridge Center on Roswell Road, owners by Paul Jordan and Marisa Acoff are expanding the menu at the new Sandy Springs restaurant to include breakfast dishes, pastas, like baked spaghetti or spinach mushroom alfredo, soft serve vegan ice cream and other desserts, and a full bar. Once open, the pizzeria plans to offer takeout and local delivery as well as dine-in service inside and on a 30-seat patio.
In addition to the regular pizza menu, Plant Based Pizzeria features the option to build custom pizzas or order half-and-half toppings on pies. All pizzas come served on a spelt flour or gluten free crust upon request. Calzones, flatbreads, and vegan burgers and sandwiches are also available on the menu.
The pizzeria uses Beyond Meat products and doesn’t incorporate white sugar, white flour, or soy in anything made in-house — a personal dietary choice for Jordan, who became a vegan five years ago after his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
Plant Based Pizzeria’s newly launched food truck can often be found parked at locations throughout Atlanta’s west side neighborhoods. The Atlanta location is currently open for takeout only. People can order online for pick-up.
