Brooklyn-based Emmy Squared brings Detroit-style pizza to Glenwood Park this summer. The pizzeria replaces the Shed at Glenwood, which closed last year after 12 years on Bill Kennedy Way.
In addition to its Detroit-style thick crust pizzas, Emmy Squared also serves sandwiches, like chicken or eggplant parmesan, salads, and a double-stack burger on a pretzel bun called the Le Big Matt.
The Glenwood Park restaurant may not be the only Emmy Squared location planned for Atlanta. A representative for the restaurant tells Eater there could be more Emmy Squared pizzerias opening around the city, “as it’s a small, neighborhood restaurant and there are so many great areas in Atlanta it would work.”
First opened in 2016 in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, Emmy Squared now includes three New York-area restaurants, along with restaurants in Nashville, Louisville, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. A location should open this summer in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Emmy Squared joins James Bond-inspired cocktail bar Vesper, which opened late last year next door to chef Kevin Gillespie’s restaurant Gunshow. Vietnamese barbecue pop-up Pho Cue, owned by Julian Wissman and Brian Holloway, opens in the former Festivals Jerk Chicken Grill space on Garrett Street in the neighborhood.
