A new cocktail bar opens this spring at the emerging Interlock development across from Westside Provisions District on Howell Mill Road, according to What Now Atlanta. Called Holiday Bar, the open-air bar takes advantage of the Interlock’s open-container license, allowing people to grab drinks to-go to enjoy elsewhere on the property.
Owned by Dave Reed and Ryan Covert, Holiday Bar resides inside a custom-built structure made of mesh and plastic designed by Atlanta-based Square Feet Studios. The patio, surrounded by fairy lights, offers seating at a high-top bar, along railings, and an area featuring fire pits.
Holiday Bar joins Velvet Taco, Cathy’s Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches, Pour Taproom, and Puttshack at the Interlock. Slater Hospitality, the group behind Ponce City Market’s Nine Mile Station, Skyline Park, and tower cocktail bar RFD Social, plans to open a restaurant and outdoor bar on the roof of the Interlock.
The Interlock is one of three large mixed-used projects featuring residences, restaurants, and retail planned for a stretch of Howell Mill from 14th to 8th streets. The $450 million complex includes apartments, a 145-room boutique hotel, restaurants, retail, and a members-only pool and lounge on the roof.
Alabama-based coffee shop and roastery Prevail Roasters recently opened at the new Star Metals development on Howell Mill Road. The coffee shop is located on the ground floor residence lobby of the complex. Beer and wine bar SMR Tap could also open some time this winter at Star Metals. Once construction is complete, Star Metals will include office, retail, and restaurant space, over 400 apartments with amenities like a rooftop pool and a dog park, and a 176-room hotel.
