The restaurant group behind Victory Sandwich Bar, LLoyd’s, and Little Trouble plans to open a new restaurant concept at the recently opened Indie Studios complex in the Armour neighborhood.
Billed as a creative “shared workspace”, Indie Studios resides inside a converted warehouse across from SweetWater Brewing Company on Ottley Drive in northeast Atlanta and features studio, retail, and office space, a lobby bar and screening room, several porches and patios, and a front garden.
While the name and menu are still in the works, Victory Brands owner Ian Jones tells Eater to expect the Indie Studios restaurant to be “similar to a Victory [Sandwich Bar]” but not an exact copy. “Indie Studios has a great design, and is shaping up to be a pretty cool spot. We’re very excited about the ample outdoor space, and we think the vibe over in that whole area is really going to come around later this year,” Jones says.
Backed by entrepreneur David Minnix of Cinemassive, Indie Studios marks the second workspace from developer Gene Kansas. Kansas is also behind the redevelopment of the VA-Hi complex, a circa-1910 building at the corner of Virginia and North Highland avenues. Home to Paolo’s Gelato, the building will eventually include market and cafe Kinship and Sicilian-style pizzeria Pizza by the Slice from O4W Pizza owner Anthony Spina. Both the pizzeria and market should open this spring in Virginia-Highland.
