Pizza and a new bar are coming to the Beacon in Grant Park

A new restaurant and bar take over the former Third Street Goods and Cardinal spaces at the Beacon in Grant Park, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. Grant Park Eats and Zoo Bar will serve pizza by day and transform into a more bar-type environment in the evening. The name appears to be a tribute to the neighborhood’s most popular tourist attraction: Zoo Atlanta. Other than permitting, few details exist, including when Grant Park Eats and Zoo Bar might open. Neighborhood market Third Street Goods and adjoining cocktail bar Cardinal closed at the complex last August. Cardinal never reopened due to state-mandated closures throughout the spring, followed by capacity caps on bars in June. Those capacity limits remain in place. Owner and bartender Kathryn DiMenichi told Eater at the time that without Cardinal, Third Street Goods and the bar don’t “thrive.” [ABC]

Cajun and Creole restaurant and bar the Corner Grille is opening on Marietta Boulevard

A second location of College Park restaurant the Corner Grille opens soon in the former Westside Pizza space on Marietta Boulevard, according to What Now Atlanta. Serving a mix of Cajun and Creole fare on the menu, the Corner Grille will offer lunch and dinner, and likely brunch on the weekend. [WNA]
