The first stalls inside forthcoming Midtown food hall Politan Row are beginning to take shape. Chef Shaun Doty’s Federal Burger, a second location of Sang Ho’s restaurant Bun Mi Vietnamese Grill, and Rob Green’s smoothie and bowl spot YŌM all open this spring at the Colony Square food hall.

Formerly Main and Main, the food hall was renamed last year to Politan Row, and is now run by New Orleans-based food hall operator Politan Group in partnership with Atlanta developer North American Properties. The group also operates luxe food hall St. Roch Market in New Orleans, along with Politan Row food halls in Miami and Chicago.

In addition to the 11 restaurant stalls, a central bar likely called Bar Politan, and a “secret bar” planned for the 20,000-square-foot food hall, the Politan Group plans to place greater emphasis on open-air spaces and outdoor seating. This includes installing a sliding glass wall opening to the outside, a patio with covered seating and shuffleboard games, the Grove with shade trees and more outdoor seating, a plaza with a stage, and an outdoor bar. Each stall at Politan Row should offer online ordering and contact-free pick-up options.

Federal Burger
After closing his Midtown restaurant The Federal last summer, chef Shaun Doty returns with Federal Burger. The menu features grass-fed beef from Bluffton, Georgia, farm White Oak Pastures and burgers sandwiched between Root Baking Co. buns. According to the press release, Doty will host monthly steak dinners highlighting a selection of popular dishes from the Federal.

Bun Mi Vietnamese Grill
Sang Ho opened his first location of Bun Mi Vietnamese Grill two years ago on the edge of the Peachtree Hills neighborhood in Buckhead. Like the Peachtree Hills location, the menu at the food stall centers around bánh mì sandwiches and pho. Expect sandwiches stuffed with grilled short rib and garlic turmeric chicken or wild-caught Gulf shrimp in freshly baked baguettes.

YŌM
Owned by personal trainer Rob Green, the food truck and pop-up becomes a food stall serving fresh juices, smoothies, toasts, and bowls. The majority of the menu is vegan and the option to add proteins.

The food hall at Colony Square, set along 14th and Peachtree streets in Midtown, was first announced in 2017 as part of a multi-million dollar overhaul of the 50-year-old complex.

Politan Row will join several previously opened and announced full-service restaurants at Colony Square. Establishment overlooks the Grove at the complex and will eventually offer access to the food hall. Chicago restaurateur Donna Lee opened her first Atlanta outpost of Brown Bag Seafood Company next to Sukoshi, a fast-casual sushi restaurant from Indigo Road Hospitality (O-Ku). Dine-in theater iPic opened in December. The relocated Holeman and Finch Public House and a third location of Persian restaurant Rumi’s Kitchen could both open by this summer. A new restaurant from the CEO of Cafe Intermezzo called Saints and Council also opens this summer at Colony Square.
