Mow’s Chinese Kitchen, a takeout and delivery restaurant, opens Tuesday, February 23, in a stand in front of Lapeer Seafood Market at Alpharetta City Center. The virtual restaurant located in the heart of the north metro Atlanta city comes from Maven Restaurant Group (Lapeer Seafood Market, South Main Kitchen, Butcher and Brew) and serves a menu of dishes paying homage to owner Louis Soon’s Chinese heritage.
Soon’s grandfather grew up in Guangzhou, China, and owned several restaurants in the port city set along the Pearl River northwest of Hong Kong. Expect Chinese-American dishes on the menu inspired by Soon’s childhood and grandfather, including handmade dumplings and noodles, his grandfather’s barbecue pork buns, salt and pepper calamari, and triple citrus chicken.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted us to revisit and adapt our current restaurant offerings to better serve our community,” Soon says of launching a takeout and delivery-only restaurant. “I look forward to bringing some of the flavors and dishes I grew up eating to Alpharetta’s distinct dining scene through our new virtual concept.”
Mow’s Chinese Kitchen is currently open for lunch, with dinner planned in the coming weeks. People order online for takeout directly through the restaurant’s website or for delivery via UberEats, GrubHub, DoorDash, and Postmates.
