A second location of popular midtown Atlanta Indian restaurant Tabla opens for lunch and dinner at the Modera complex along Pharr and Peachtree roads in Buckhead Tuesday, March 16.

Owner Sandeep Kothary opened the original Tabla in 2013 on 12th Street in Midtown. He expanded the restaurant’s interiors three years ago, before signing a lease on the second location prior to the pandemic.

Tabla-Buckhead serves a similar menu to Midtown with a few dishes exclusive to the new location, including rajasthani kharagosh (braised rabbit loin in a spicy tomato and onion sauce), baluchi murg tikka (spicy grilled chicken), and gobi mausllam (baked cauliflower in cashew gravy). These new dishes are served alongside oft-ordered favorites on the menu, like duck confit samosas, butter chicken, and dal bukhara (ginger and garlic-infused black lentils). At lunch, the restaurant offers thali specials, wraps, and salads.

The Buckhead location is currently awaiting the approval of its liquor license. Once received, expect themed cocktails like the chai Old Fashioned and Delhi mule as well as Indian beers and wine from the bar.

Tabla-Buckhead features seating in the dining room and large bar with high-top tables, a small private dining room, and on the patio which Kothary eventually plans to make all-weather with ceiling fans and heating elements for the colder months.

Open Sunday, 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Tuesday - Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Masks highly encouraged. Order online for takeout.
