A third location of popular coffeehouse Spiller Park Coffee opens this fall in a new portion of the Publix-anchored Moores Mill Center complex undergoing redevelopment in northwest Atlanta. Owner Dale Donchey announced the expansion plans on Instagram.
Donchey tells Eater the Moores Mill coffee shop will likely feature a similar layout to the Spiller Park-Toco Hills location and should include a few new coffee drinks and a larger kitchen allowing he and his staff to offer more grab-and-go food on the menu. A veteran of the Atlanta coffee scene, Donchey’s background includes stints at Steady Hand Pour House, Method Coffee Bar, and Octane.
Spiller Park Coffee first opened six years ago as a large kiosk at Ponce City Market on the first floor of the Central Food Hall, across from H&F Burger and Hop’s Chicken. A second, larger location opened at the Toco Hill shopping center on North Druid Hills Road in 2017. Like the Ponce City Market location, the Toco Hills shop serves fair trade coffee blends from around the world as well as a light food menu dedicated to a variety of toast combinations, grain bowls, local pastries, and Donchey’s fresh-made bagels and bagel sandwiches.
Donchey is in the process of scouting locations for his next venture, a bagel shop called Dear Friend Bagels. For now, people can grab bagels at either the Ponce City Market or Toco Hills shops. Follow Spiller Park Coffee and Dear Friend Bagels on Instagram for the latest menu and availability by location.
