Brooklyn-based restaurant Emmy Squared brings its Detroit-style pizzas to Glenwood Park starting Thursday, April 22. It replaces the Shed at Glenwood, which closed last year on Bill Kennedy Way in the neighborhood.
In addition to thick-crust, square pizzas, including a Glenwood Park-specific pie, the menu offers sandwiches like a crispy chicken parmesan, an eggplant parmesan skillet, a Brussels sprouts salad, and Emmy Squared’s double-stack cheeseburger served on a pretzel bun called the Le Big Matt. Look for wine, beer, and cocktails from the bar. Limited seating will be available in the dining room and outside on the restaurant’s covered patio.
The Glenwood Park restaurant may not be the only Emmy Squared location planned for Atlanta. A representative for the restaurant tells Eater the company is scouting locations in the city to open more Emmy Squared pizzerias.

First opened in 2016 in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, Emmy Squared now includes three New York-area restaurants and restaurants in Nashville, Louisville, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. A location should open this summer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Longtime Glenwood Park restaurant the Shed at Glenwood closed in the space after 12 years last September. According to a statement provided by owner Rich Spillane, the Shed had remained closed since late last March over safety concerns resulting from the COVID-19 health crisis. “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we could not responsibly and safely stay open,” Spillane said.
