Atlanta restaurant group Slater Hospitality, the company behind Ponce City Market rooftop restaurant Nine Mile Station, Skyline Park, and tower bar 12 Cocktail Bar, open a resort-style pool, outdoor bar, and restaurant venue called Leave of Absence (L.O.A.) this fall atop the Interlock development on Howell Mill Road in Atlanta.
As with the group’s Ponce City Market rooftop complex, those wishing to dine, drink, and party poolside at the Interlock must check in on the ground floor to gain access to the adults-only space on the roof.
“We often wished for a local resort-style experience that didn’t require us leaving our Atlanta backyard”, Slater Hospitality co-owner Mandy Slater says in a press release. “The intention for L.O.A. is that guests feel like they are on vacation the moment they check in on the ground floor, before ever heading up to the roof.”
The restaurant
L.O.A. will feature a 300-seat indoor-outdoor restaurant complete with a bar, an outdoor terrace with a fire pit, a chefs table in the kitchen, and a private dining room and patio. Open for dinner, weekend brunch, and late-night dining, the menu centers around “coastal European cuisine” and dishes cooked over an open fire. Look for a 500-bottle wine list, cocktails, and local beers here.
The Grove and outdoor bar
In addition to the restaurant and its bar, L.O.A. will also include an outdoor bar and lounge called the Grove with fire pit tables, shade trees, and views of the Atlanta skyline. A covered pavilion acts as a separate event space accommodating up to 150 people.
The pool and pool bar
The pool, fashioned after those found at resorts throughout Miami and Los Angeles, will feature sun loungers and private cabanas for up to six people, a wraparound bar with an interior lounge, bottle service, and a menu offering lunch and light bites.

L.O.A. joins cocktail bar and lounge Drawbar, St. Germain Bakery, outdoor bar Holiday Bar, self-service beer and cider bar Pour Taproom, a second location of Velvet Taco, Cathy’s Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches, and mini golf bar and restaurant Puttshack at the Interlock.
The Interlock is one of three large mixed-use projects featuring residences, restaurants, and retail emerging along a stretch of Howell Mill Road from 14th to 8th streets. The $450 million complex includes apartments and newly opened boutique hotel the Bellyard as well as incubator space from Georgia Technology Ventures and a location of co-working company WeWork.
