Longtime Midtown Restaurant Einstein’s Is Now Closed on Juniper Street

Longtime Midtown restaurant Einstein’s closed over the weekend after 30 years on Juniper Street in Midtown, with neighboring restaurant Joe’s on Juniper set to close by October.

“Einsteins hosted its final service this past weekend and has now closed for regular dining,” a statement provided to Eater from restaurant group Metrotainment Cafes reads. “The restaurant and space will be available for private events until October for those seeking spaces for rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, corporate events and more. Additionally, Joe’s on Juniper will remain open until October, allowing guests to enjoy the summer season on the famous patio in Midtown.”

Earlier this year, Metrotainment Cafes sold the properties on which Einstein’s and Joes on Juniper reside to Charleston-based developer Middle Street Partners. The restaurants will eventually be demolished to make way for two multi-story buildings that could eventually include new iterations of Einstein’s and Joe’s on Juniper. According to Urbanize Atlanta, Middle Street Partners had been in “active discussions” with Metrotainment regarding the possibility of reopening both establishments as part of the street-level retail and restaurant spaces planned for the residential towers.

It’s unclear as to the current status of those discussions and no further details were provided by the restaurant group.

In 2018, Metrotainment closed its popular Midtown honky tonk and steakhouse Cowtippers Steaks and Spirits after 25 years on Piedmont Avenue. The restaurant group also owns six Hudson Grille locations throughout Atlanta and the metro area.
