Atlanta pâtisserie Saint-Germain Bakery and Cafe is now open at the Interlock and Bellyard Hotel along Howell Mill Road, across from Westside Provisions District. The bakery-cafe offers limited seating inside, with additional cafe-style seating on the patio.
Named for the Parisian neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in the 6th arrondissement, the cafe is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves French pastries alongside a menu of grilled sandwiches, croque monsieurs, quiches, and soups. In addition to coffee, tea, and espresso, Saint-Germain at the Interlock eventually plans to serve French wines and champagne by the glass.
“Our menu is continuing to evolve towards a full café menu with sandwiches, quiches, croisandwiches, soups and boards (charcuterie, cheese and seasonal tapas),” a representative for Saint-Germain Bakery tells Eater.
Before opening Saint-Germain Bakery in 2016 at Ponce City Market, French native Mathieu Jourdan-Gassin and Heather Jourdan-Gassin worked at French and American restaurants around Atlanta for several years. The pâtisserie is known for its selection of classic French pastries, croissants, chouquettes, macarons, and chocolates
A similar bakery-cafe location with street-side seating opens in late September at luxe-retail complex Buckhead Village on Peachtree Road.
Saint-Germain Bakery and Cafe joins cocktail bar and lounge Drawbar now open at the Bellyard Hotel and Velvet Taco and mini golf bar and restaurant Puttshack open at the Interlock. Outdoor bar Holiday Bar, self-service beer and cider bar Pour Taproom, and a second location of Cathy’s Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwiches are all expected to open at the Interlock this fall.
1115 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta. Open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
