MIDTOWN: After closing last year during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlanta-based burger chain Farm Burger reopens inside the Midtown Whole Foods along 14th Street on Monday, July 12. In addition to serving its grass-fed beef burgers and chicken, vegetarian, and vegan burgers, the Midtown location added three fried chicken sandwiches to the menu from Farm Burger’s takeout and delivery restaurant Farm Birds, based out of the Buckhead location. The 14th Street burger joint includes 86 seats inside and seating for up to 28 outside. For now Farm Burger-Midtown will be open daily, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening hours are expected to begin in September. [Official]
BUCKHEAD: Chef Pano Karatassos and Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, known for restaurants like Chop’s Lobster Bar, Atlanta Fish Market, and Bistro Nikko, launched a ghost kitchen called Lamb Shack from the group’s Buckhead Greek restaurant Kyma. As the name implies, the menu for the fast-casual takeout and delivery restaurant centers around lamb, serving it as build-your-own wraps and salads. There’s also a lamb pie on the menu filled with cheese, yogurt, kalamata olives, arugula, and dill and three-day marinated lamb chops, along with Greek fries and doughnuts and other side dishes. People can order for takeout to be picked up at Kyma or for delivery via UberEats and DoorDash. [Official]
DOWNTOWN: A location of Atlanta-based salad, wrap, and grain bowl chain Gusto is opening at the corner of Park Place and Edgewood Avenue in the former Kung Fu Tea space this fall. The restaurant will be located between the Five Points and Peachtree Center MARTA stations and walkable from Georgia State University. Owner Nate Hybl expects delivery to be a large part of the business for the Downtown location. Hybl just announced an East Cobb location opening at the Parkaire Landing development this summer. It will be the second Gusto with a drive-thru, joining Chamblee. [Official]
EAST ATLANTA VILLAGE: Plant shop the Victorian Atlanta and Bellwood Coffee combined forces to open Victorian Atlanta x Bellwood Coffee on Glenwood Avenue inside a 100-year-old home in East Atlanta Village. Situated in the middle of the shop, Bellwood Bar offers coffee and coffee drinks, along with some grab-and-go food items. Seating inside includes around nine seats at a bar and a few seats scattered throughout the shop, with additional seating outside on the patio. The Victorian encompasses most of the Glenwood Avenue space, which feature a cactus room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The EAV shop is currently open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. [Instagram]
