Sophia Marchese and Reid Trapani, the team behind Latin food-inspired vegan pop-up Happy Seed, are opening their first restaurant, La Semilla, in Reynoldstown next year.
Located at Modera Reynoldstown on Memorial Drive, La Semilla will serve a menu centered around Latin dishes and drinks, including crunch wraps made with seitan beef and sopes with seitan asada as well as squash empanadas and king oyster mushroom carnitas enchiladas from the Happy Seed pop-up.

Once open, La Semilla should seat around 75 people and feature a covered patio. Marchese and Trapani also say they will continue popping up with Happy Seed until the restaurant opens next spring. Happy Seed can often be found at local restaurants like a mano and Buena Vida Tapas and Sol in the Old Fourth Ward. People should follow Happy Seed on Instagram to keep updated on the next pop-up location and menu offerings.
Longtime members of the Atlanta restaurant industry, Marchese and Trapani founded Happy Seed as a catering business in 2018 before eventually pivoting it to pop-ups. Like the pop-up, sustainability and use of local produce and ingredients will be key at La Semilla
La Semilla joins fast-casual vegan restaurant Envegan and juice bar Clean Juice, also opening at the complex.
