Pietro Gianni and Stephen Peterson, two of the owners behind Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante and Forza Storico, plan to open Italian restaurant Yeppa and Co. this summer in the former Biltong Bar space at Buckhead Village. Biltong Bar, backed by Justin Anthony and the True Story Brands restaurant group, closed at the luxury retail development earlier this month.
Gianni and Peterson, along with chef Michael Patrick, also own wine bar Storico Vino on Peachtree Road at Buckhead Village, which opened in the Corso Coffee space in March 2021. Patrick, who remains involved in the other three restaurants, is focusing on writing a cookbook and is not involved in Yeppa and Co.
Yeppa, named for a verbal exclamation expressing joy and excitement, will serve a menu of dishes influenced by the coastal city of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy along the Adriatic Sea. Look for plates of cured meats and cheeses, grilled skewers, seafood dishes with fish from the Adriatic, paninis and piadina romagnola (Italian flatbread sandwich) as well as hearty pasta dishes, like lasagne alla bolognese and tortelli filled with meat, vegetables, and cheese. Expect pizzas as well as focaccia on the menu, too.
Located on Buckhead Avenue, across from recently opened Fetch dog park and bar, the design for Yeppa calls for a large, central bar with televisions tuned into American and international sports, seating for 130 people inside between the dining room and the bar, and an all-weather patio with seating for an additional 50 people.
