Billy Kramer is moving his popular burger counter NFA Burger in Dunwoody into a new home next year not far from its current location inside a Chevron market on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.

The new 600-square-foot restaurant is being built beside the gas station in a separate space attached to the current building. And Kramer is expanding the hours and the menu here, adding milkshakes and a smoked chicken sandwich from Grand Champion BBQ. Kramer partnered recently with Grand Champion BBQ owner Robert Owens on a smoked brisket breakfast pop-up at NFA Burger. He has other projects in the works with Owens, too.

“The original buildout was intended as a small cafe run by the gas station. When I was asked to take over the spot, it was clear that if NFA took off, the space would be too small,” Kramer says of the new restaurant space. “Fortunately, NFA’s limited success also means the gas station needs additional room to operate more efficiently. Our partnership with the Chevron has always been and is amazing. This is our home and we’ll continue to embrace our roots.”

If all goes smoothly with permitting, and barring any delays in acquiring necessary building materials and equipment, NFA Burger could open in its new space as early as next spring and with seating on a covered patio. Until then, NFA Burger remains open and serving at the counter inside the Chevron.

As for the menu expansion, Kramer says he’s still working on fleshing that all out, but the smoked chicken sandwich is definite, as are milkshakes and soda. He’s also considering adding alcoholic beverages to the menu, but needs to weigh the cost benefits before making a final decision.

Kramer first began popping up with his burgers six years at restaurants like Hampton and Hudson in Inman Park, Galla’s in Chamblee, and Big Sky Buckhead. He quickly amassed regulars who enthusiastically followed his burger pop-ups around town. Having lived in Dunwoody for over two decades, Kramer finally decided to make his pop-up permanent, opening inside the Chevron market on Chamblee Dunwoody in 2019.

The menu features NFA’s classic double and triple cheeseburgers, as well as the monstrous quad burger, all topped with American cheese, pickles, mustard, and Kramer’s sweet and salty “sassy” sauce.
