Celebrity hot spot Nobu is officially open at the new Nobu Hotel at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, joining an exclusive club of restaurant locations spanning five continents in cities like New York, Mexico City, London, Cape Town, Dubai, and Singapore.

The glamorous fine dining restaurant from chef Nobu Matsuhisa, film star Robert De Niro, and movie producer Meir Teper melds sushi and traditional Japanese dishes together with Peruvian flavors and ingredients.

Located just off the lobby of the hotel (and at a whopping 10,000 square feet,) Nobu seats 272 people between its bar area and dining room. The design for the restaurant takes inspiration from the minimalist architecture and decor found in Japanese garden pavilions and includes a large river rock art installation spanning the length of the bar in the lounge. A private dining room seats up to 24 people, with a sake room seating 12 people.

Led in the kitchen by chef Brandon Chavannes (the Betty, St. Cecilia), people can expect to find many of Nobu’s most popular dishes on the menu in Atlanta, including the black cod with miso, rock shrimp tempura, and yellowtail with jalapeno. In addition to sushi, Nobu Atlanta also serves kushiyaki skewers and the restaurant’s signature sashimi and ceviche tacos. Look for cocktails like the lychee and elderflower martini, Meridian 77 made with pisco, lychee, and shiso, and the dual rum and Campari-based Buckhead Cooler, along with a separate food menu, from the bar.

A third location of Alon’s Bakery and Market opened last year at the complex.
