The building once home to popular Virginia-Highland neighborhood sports bar Diesel Filling Station now has a new owner, says Steve Josovitz of real estate brokerage firm the Shumacher Group. Randy Pechin, the owner of Inman Quarter cocktail bar Little Spirit, just purchased the building on the corner of North Highland Avenue and Drewry Street.
Pechin declined to provide details on his plans for the building when reached for comment. However, he tells Eater to expect more information regarding “the concept for the space” in the “coming weeks.”
Listed for sale last September, Diesel Filling Station closed at the end of 2021 after 13 years in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. Rumors circulated that the property could be up for redevelopment. The distinctive building was a former gas station and appeared on an episode of the TV series The Walking Dead, which was shot in and around Atlanta. [TSG/EATL]
