Osiris Ballard and chef Anthony Sanders are on a roll with their burgeoning brunch restaurant empire in Atlanta. The pair will open another location of their popular downtown restaurant Atlanta Breakfast Club at Atlantic Station in Midtown later this summer.
Located just off of the central green space at the complex, the first floor of Atlanta Breakfast Club features the same menu as its downtown counterpart, with the second floor of the restaurant offering an “an upscale, casual dining experience” called the Club meant for socializing. Ballard and Sanders say the Club will combine food, music and culture and include a separate menu of “world street food.”
Ballard and Sanders first opened Atlanta Breakfast Club in 2016 along Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard in downtown Atlanta serving hearty brunch dishes, including chicken and waffles, biscuit sandwiches, peach cobbler French toast, and breakfast tacos.
Then, in 2020, the partners opened an offshoot of the restaurant called ABC Chicken and Waffles inside the Freedom Corner building adjacent to the Madam C.J. Walker Museum on Auburn Avenue. The Sweet Auburn restaurant features a nitro coffee bar and a menu centered around its namesake dish.
Last year, Ballard and Sanders purchased Kirkwood breakfast and brunch spot Le Petit Marche from Marchet Spark after she closed the longtime restaurant on Hosea L. Williams Drive. Much of Spark’s original menu remains intact, with a few fresh additions like fried lobster tail and a short rib cheeseburger.
Atlanta Breakfast Club joins a number of new restaurants now open or opening at Atlantic Station, including Azotea Cantina, Toscano Ristorante Italiano, SriThai Kitchen and Sushi, and locations of Hobnob Neighborhood Tavern and Southern diner Bantam + Biddy. Rose Bistro and Champagne Bar opens at the Midtown development this spring.
A location of popular Houston all-day brunch restaurant Taste Bar and Kitchen, owned by chef Don Bowie, should open on 17th Street at nearby high rise the Atlantic.
