Seafood restaurant Boho 115 opens later this month on Decatur Square, transforming the former Square Pub space into a casual spot for ceviches, fresh fish, Argentinian steak, and empanadas paired with pisco sours and classic daiquiris.
Located next door to the Iberian Pig, the menu for Boho 115 offers a variety of seafood dishes and complementing snacks inspired by coastal cities in Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and countries throughout the Mediterranean region. This includes beef carpaccio, tostadas topped with ceviche and saffron swordfish, diablo prawns, and tacos stuffed with octopus, shrimp, and grilled tuna. Look for raw bar, chilled seafood, and conserva selections, empanadas from local bakery Belen de la Cruz, and whole roasted fish dinners here, too.
As with the food, cocktails lean light and breezy with fish camp punch and draft margaritas as well as classic drinks, including a pisco sour, caipirinha, and a take on the Hemingway daiquiri. Beer and wine are also available, again taking cues from the aforementioned coastal regions.
Gone are the dark woods and red brick walls of the former pub, in favor of ocean tones, whitewash and faded shiplap, and rattan throughout to give the restaurant a seaside vibe. The lower level features a dining room and bar, while the loft above serves as a lounge area and the third level provides seating at a window bar overlooking Decatur Square.
The Square Pub closed just two weeks prior to the start of the pandemic in 2020 after a decade on Decatur Square. No explanation for the closure was given at the time, but speculation surrounding ongoing parking woes and rising rents in downtown Decatur may have factored into the decision by owner Bob Rhein to close the popular pub.
