Drew and Brittany Fancher, the owners behind mobile bar business the Aero Bar Atlanta, plan to open a cocktail lounge with a small speakeasy this fall at the Works complex off of Chattahoochee Avenue in Underwood Hills.
Called Foundation, the cocktail bar is located along Chattahoochee Row (the main street of the complex) near Fox Bros Bar-B-Q and Dr. Scofflaw’s Laboratory and Beer Garden at the Works, also home to food hall Chattahoochee Food Works.
With a design fashioned after old estates with distressed furniture, a fireplace lit by candles, and antique mirrors and chandeliers throughout, Foundation is meant to provide an intimate experience for people gathering for drinks. The bar also includes a small speakeasy only available by reservation and for private events.
As for the cocktail menu at Foundation, it will likely be similar to that of the couple’s mobile bar business, which serves classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, French 75, and Paper Plane, alongside original drinks, including the Peychaud’s Flowers and the Gardens with gin and St. Germain.
Expect a tight list of food served at Foundation, with a menu featuring charcuterie boards and other savory bites, like flatbreads, meatballs, and pimento cheese sliders.
