The Midtown location of Shake Shack opens tonight just outside the gates to the 12th Street entrance to Piedmont Park at the Piedmont Park Conservancy Community Center beside Willy’s Mexicana Grill.
Plans for this latest location of the New York-based burger chain were revealed last winter.
Midtown becomes the sixth Shake Shack to open in Atlanta over the last seven years. The first restaurant opened in Buckhead in 2014, followed by a location at the Perimeter two years later and an Old Fourth Ward location on the Eastside Beltline trail in 2019. There’s also a Shake Shack kiosk on Concourse A at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and a location is now open in Alpharetta.
Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Piedmont Park Shake Shack is designed with outdoor dining in mind and features a canopied patio and walk-up window for people opting to take their burgers, fries, and shakes to-go and eat at the park.
In addition to its regular food and drink menu, the Piedmont Park location offers dog treats, including dog biscuits and cups of vanilla custard topped with a dog biscuit, for folks stopping by with their pets before walking in the park.
As part of the opening, Shake Shack plans to donate one dollar for every sandwich sold on April 28 and April 29 to benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy, a nonprofit working to preserve the 185-acre green space in the heart of Atlanta.
