Located behind the Plaza Theatre complex on North Highland Avenue, the Poncey-Highland seafood market offers fresh-caught fish, oysters, shrimp, and other shellfish from around the region for sale in the cold cases. Forsblom also serves a cafe menu throughout the afternoon featuring dishes like a sourdough bagel topped with beet and gin-cured salmon, pickled onions, and tomatoes, a seared Gulf shrimp roll, a tuna melt, and crudo plates.
Seating is available inside, with additional seats outside at small tables on the sidewalk.
Once Fishmonger receives its liquor license, the trio plans to transform the cafe side of the business into a raw bar in the evenings serving cocktails and natural wine. Fishmonger is currently BYOB and open Tuesday through Sunday. Check Instagram for hours. [IG]
