A natural gas leak temporarily closed Krog Street Market and a few surrounding businesses and restaurants for the afternoon, including Bell Street Burritos at the Stove Works across the street. But it appears the food hall and Krog Street Market restaurants lSuperica and Bar Mercado will reopen in time for dinner.

Ticonderoga Club is closed this evening while the owners and staff attend the James Beard Awards ceremony in Chicago. The restaurant and bar is a finalist in the Outstanding Hospitality category.

According to 11Alive News, a contractor hit a gas line late Monday morning while working near Krog Street on the border between the Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park. Krog Street was blocked between Edgewood Avenue and Irwin Street.

Atlanta Gas Light is working to repair the ruptured gas line.

Major construction is in progress along Krog Street and parts of Edgewood Avenue just around the block to create what Charlotte-based developer Asana Partners has deemed the sprawling “Krog District”. This includes a new four-story complex and parking deck behind Krog Street Market and expansion of the Stove Works flanking the Eastside Beltline trail.

UK brewpub giant BrewDog should open at the Stove Works later this summer. The brewpub will feature 28 taps offering local beers and beers brewed on site, a restaurant serving pub fare, a beer school, indoor fire pits, and a large outdoor seating area.
