A 48-tap, self-service wine bar offering charcuterie boards and paninis is headed to the Works complex in Underwood Hills this fall, the AJC first reported. Taste Wine Bar and Market, owned by sommelier and wine merchant Ben Ferris, is expected to open in October along Chattahoochee Row at the development, home to food hall Chattahoochee Food Works.
Featuring a 20-seat patio, Taste Wine Bar allows people to sample up to 48 wines from self-service taps by either opening a tab or loading a pre-paid card with pours. Wines are also available by the bottle and carafe. Large glass doors will roll up to provide an indoor/outdoor atmosphere at Taste Wine Bar, which overlooks the Spur linear pedestrian park at the Works.
As for wines, Ferris plans to feature what he describes as “fan favorites” on tap, as well as offer a number of regional wines, wines made by women and people of color, and wines from smaller producers. Food should include charcuterie and cheese boards, paninis, salads, and weekly specials. The market will sell 100 wines by the bottle and the bar’s charcuterie boards, meats, and cheeses.
