Flip Burger’s location on Howell Mill Road was sold to Kechia Matadin (Cirque Daiquiri Bar, Blu Seafood) on June 29, according to What Now Atlanta and documents provided by the Shumacher Group. The burger boutique intends to reopen in Midtown and owner Joseph Hsiao (H Restaurant Group) is currently seeking a new location for the restaurant.
Matadin will convert the space to a soon-to-be announced upscale restaurant and bar.
Top Chef alum Richard Blais opened Flip Burger in 2008. Flip’s additional locations in Buckhead and on North Highland Avenue closed back in 2017 and 2015.
“Wednesday was our last day,” Hsiao says. “We’re gonna be relocating over to the Midtown area to be closer to our Flying Biscuit cafe location.” H Restaurant Group hopes to open the new location within 6-8 months.
This is a developing story. Eater Atlanta has reached out to Flip Burger for further comment and will update the story as more information becomes available.
