A new pizzeria is headed to the Carter Oak Crossing complex in Norcross early next year.
Vinh Nguyen of Pho Ga Tony Tony and Gustavo Arribas, who formerly owned Venezia Pizzeria in the Bronx, plan to open Vicina Pizza and Salad on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Vicina Pizza and Salad will reside in the same complex as Pho Ga Tony Tony. Look for classic New York-style pizzas on the menu as well as other pizza styles like a clam pie — a pizza first made famous by Frank Pepe in the 1960s at his eponymous New Haven, Connecticut, pizzeria.
Nguyen tells Eater he and Arribas hope to kick off construction on their New York-style pizzeria some time in August. [Official]

Barbecue restaurant Smokey Stallion opens in Castleberry Hill
NFL quarterback Cam Newton and his brother, C.J. opened Smokey Stallion in the former Smoke Ring space on Nelson Street earlier this month, the AJC reports. The menu features smoked brisket, turkey legs, pork, and chicken plates and sandwiches from pitmaster Mitch Robinson, along with fried pickles, pretzel bites, wings, and loaded fries. A pan-seared salmon plate and vegan burger are also served at the restaurant. Newton owns swanky cigar bar and restaurant Fellaship, which opened in Castleberry Hill three years ago. Smokey Stallion is open Thursday through Monday for lunch and dinner. [AJC/EATL]
