While Summer is winding down for most of the country, the heat and humidity will likely stick around through the first few weeks of fall in Atlanta. Warm weather lingers in the South, allowing for longer growing seasons, more days enjoyed outdoors, and extended stays for frozen drinks on menus. But when a late-summer or early-fall afternoon in ATL calls for both caffeine and a refreshing drink, nothing beats these three iced coffee and cold brew concoctions.

The Atlanta Dreamsicle is what happens when espresso meets the summery flavors of a creamsicle bar over ice in a rocks glass — or a recycled plastic to-go cup. This non-alcoholic coffee cocktail features a base of coconut cream blended with peach nectar and peach syrup infused with Szechuan peppercorns, paprika, and white pepper. Espresso brings punch to the drink, which is garnished with mint and a peach gummy ring.
Hippie at Gilly Brew Bar
Stone Mountain Village
The Hippie keeps it cool and relaxed for those late-summer afternoons, but hints at fall in that glass. Leave it to Gilly Brew Bar to concoct a soothing cold brew drink which strikes the inter-seasonal balance between summer and fall in metro Atlanta. Cold brew is infused with house-made CBD and mixed with lavender and rosemary simple syrup and chocolate bitters. It’s then topped with fresh cream. Available until September 25.
Aunt Viv Float at Big Softie
Summerhill
Regulars to the Summerhill soft serve ice cream shop on Georgia Avenue are familiar with this cold brew drink, especially during the summer. Playing off of the nutty cocoa notes infused in the Founder’s blend from West End coffee company Portrait Coffee, Big Softie mixes cardamom and brown sugar syrup into the cold brew. It’s then poured over creamy vanilla soft serve ice cream, which can be swapped out for the shop’s vegan oat vanilla. Headed to Little Tart Bakeshop next door? Order the affogato — a shot of espresso over a scoop of vegan vanilla.
