A Latin food restaurant called Birdcage is opening by the end of 2023 at Larkin on Memorial, What Now Atlanta first reported, joining Grant Park Market, Woodward and Park, and Full Commission at the Grant Park complex.
Backed by Leslie Cohen, who won a 2015 episode of “Cutthroat Kitchen” hosted by Alton Brown, Birdcage takes over a standalone building along Memorial Drive across from the chef’s brick-oven pizzeria Firepit Pizza Tavern at Larkin on Memorial. Cohen is collaborating with Firepit Pizza Tavern chef Shaun Whitmer in the food for Birdcage.
Details on the restaurant are scant, but a representative for Cohen says to expect “seasonal dishes” with “Latin flavors” and a colorful, vibrant design with “flamboyant vibes.” Birdcage will also feature a covered patio area. Eater reached out for more details on the menu.
Cohen opened her popular brick-oven pizzeria at the Memorial Drive complex in 2018, serving a variety of red and white sauce pizzas, along with wings and sandwiches like a meatball sub and a take on the French dip.
