A second location of East Lake Japanese-Korean restaurant Salaryman is now open for lunch and dinner at the Toco Hill Shopping Center on North Druid Hills Road.
Located next door to package store Toco Giant, the menu is similar to the East Lake location, but with the addition of Korean pizzas. Some pizzas are topped with ingredients like bibimbap and Korean fried chicken. As in East Lake, the menu in Toco Hills also features bowls of ramen and yakisoba, bao buns, a wagyu beef burger topped Boursin cheese, crispy prosciutto, arugula, and port wine onion jam, KFC wings, and poutine tossed with beef bulgogi, kimchi, cheese, and gravy. Look for a selection of cocktails, beer, and sake and wine by the glass and bottle.
Named for a term referencing a white-collar business person in Japan, Salaryman in Toco Hills seats around 50 people between the dining room and bar, with seating for another 40 people on the patio. Like in East Lake, TVs throughout the restaurant and bar will frequently tune into sports and other major events.
First opened in East Lake four years ago, Salaryman comes from Michael Lo and his restaurant group Korean Wives Hospitality Group, which owns Suzy Siu’s Baos at Krog Street Market and Ramen Station in Grant Park. Lo’s former business partner, chef George Yu, departed the restaurant group two years ago. He is now the sole owner of Noona Korean steakhouse in Duluth.
A new restaurant centered on Jamaican dishes and tropical cocktails and fresh juices is opening at the Toco Hill Shopping Plaza in March. Owned by Wynter Lii and her daughters Ashante, Neirah, and Kenecia, Mobay Spice takes over the former Fish Bowl Poke space and features a Jamaican-American-style brunch on Sundays.
The complex is also home to Spiller Park Coffee, Yumbii, the Queso Shop, Top Spice Thai and Malaysian Cuisine, Chris’ Pizza, Iron Age Korean steakhouse, and the Spicy Peach kosher market and deli.
Open Sunday - Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
