Plans are finally moving forward for a restaurant to take up residence in the vacant Grant Park Gateway building atop an underground parking garage on Boulevard. The city took over the building next door to Zoo Atlanta from the Atlanta and Fulton County Recreation Authority last year, and apparently that made all the difference.
For those who’ve been following the diligent coverage by Urbanize Atlanta over the last two years on the $48 million Grant Park Gateway building and park project, the news the city is seeking proposals to place a restaurant in this space by the end of 2023 should come as welcome news.
With floor to ceiling windows breathing in natural light and a large covered patio offering unobstructed views of a lovely 2.5 acre park beside the building, this space is primed for a restaurant takeover. Multiple restaurant occupants could be selected if those submitted proposals fit with the city’s vision for the Grant Park Gateway space.
