Celebrity hairstylist Gocha Hawkins, the owner behind popular all-day brunch restaurant Gocha’s Breakfast Bar, just opened her latest venture — a tapas restaurant in the city of South Fulton.

Located in the new Publix Shopping Center at Sandtown Crossing on Campbellton Road, Gocha’s Tapas Bar features dishes like a duo of grilled lamb chops, shrimp ceviche served in a coupe glass, mini salmon cakes, and shrimp scampi that comes in a personal-sized cast iron skillet.

A grand opening celebration for Gocha’s Tapas Bar takes place Wednesday, May 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., hosted by actress Crystal Renee of the BET series “Sistas”.

Hawkins first opened Gocha’s Breakfast Bar in 2019 on Cascade Road serving an all-day brunch menu of dishes, including shrimp and grits, Krunch-Tastic French toast, and Better Than Yo Momma biscuits paired with mimosas and other brunch cocktails. She opened a second location of the buzzy brunch spot a year later in Fayetteville at the Summit Point shopping complex. Despite offering reservations, both restaurant locations often see lines forming on the weekends.

Prior to her restaurant career, Hawkins spent nearly 30 years working in the beauty industry. She owns Gocha Salon in Midtown and gained fame in Atlanta as the hairstylist for reality star Kandi Burruss and tennis legend Serena Williams, along with other celebrity clients like Beyonce and Niki Minaj when they were town for concerts or events. In addition to serving as a hair consultant for the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, and Atlanta Hawks cheerleaders, Hawkins was also part of the WE TV series “LA Hair” for three seasons.

Open Tuesday - Sunday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
