This Cafe and Market Brings a Touch of Paris to Alpharetta

Parisian-style cafe and market Petite FSE is now open on Roswell Street in Alpharetta.

Located in front of sister restaurant Foundation Social Eatery, Petite FSE serves coffee, sandwiches, and salads throughout the day, including jambon beurre with ham and butter on a baguette, a prosciutto melt, salad nicoise, and burrata with crushed olive tapenade. The pre-packed Lunch in Europe comes with tinned fish, a baguette, and three choices of garlic aioli, grilled lemon, maldon, dijon mustard, and pepperoncini.

In addition to the cafe menu, Petite FSE also sells pastries like eclairs, brown butter chocolate chip cookies, cheddar and chive scones, and mini macaron boxes, along with freshly baked breads, house-made pastas and sauces, wine, and other market items.

While Petite FSE is meant to be more grab-and-go, some communal seating is available beyond the counter and display cases.

After closing his beloved Roswell restaurant in 2020, chef Mel Toledo and Foundation Social Eatery made a triumphant return late last year. Now reopened in Alpharetta’s burgeoning downtown dining district, Foundation Social Eatery offers a sense of familiarity for regulars to the Roswell restaurant, but with a fresh take on both the food and decor.

A few of the Roswell restaurant’s most popular dishes, including the crispy Spanish octopus, pate, PEI mussels, and chicken bolognese are on the menu in Alpharetta, as well as new dishes like salt and sugar cured scallop crudo, turnip and ricotta tortelli filled with duck confit and pickled mushrooms, and a confit lamb neck for two.

Part of Toledo’s expansion plans in Alpharetta was to eventually open a cafe and market similar to those found throughout Paris in the front portion of Foundation Social Eatery.
