There’s a great open-air patio at this neighborhood hangout on Brady Avenue and a sunroom featuring a lovely fireplace to hang out by while enjoying a meal and drinks. The windows open to the outside when the weather is warm and pleasant.

Head out the back door of Ford Fry’s swanky Westside Provisions District steakhouse and find a patio area with a large stone fireplace overlooking the train tracks. Grab dinner and wine out there. However, Marcel offers a cigar program, so smokers may indulge nearby.

Located on the corner of Northside Drive and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Westside Motor Lounge takes over two former automotive shops, four shipping containers, and a 1982 Mercedes Wagon, transforming the site into a mini dining, drinking, and entertainment district at Echo Street West. Outdoor seating, complete with fire pits for cool days and evenings, includes conversation areas, a beer garden, a covered patio, and seating under the stars and string lights throughout the sprawling property.

Former Atlas chef Christopher Grossman opened his all-day neighborhood restaurant the Chastain in the former Horseradish Grill space in 2019. The outdoor seating arrangements at this restaurant are hard to beat, and offer everything from a casual conversation area by the large stone fire pit to seating under an old oak tree. After dinner, take a stroll in the restaurant’s vegetable and herb garden beside the dining room.

Yebo Beach Haus

South African comfort food restaurant Yebo Beach Haus relocated in 2020 from West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead to Andrews Square, just one half mile northeast. The menu hasn’t changed, but the new location faces an interior courtyard with a large fountain and plenty of space for outdoor dining and a fire pit blazing on cool evenings in Atlanta.

The second location of northwest Atlanta barbecue joint Das BBQ opened on Memorial Drive in Grant Park in 2021 and includes 110 seats between two covered patios and benches surrounding a fire pit near the outdoor stage.

The Greek restaurant in Buckhead includes an intimate table for two in front of a gleaming white fireplace on its all-weather patio. Ask for the “fireplace table” when making reservations.

The fireplace is best enjoyed with a smoked old fashioned. It’s a blend of rye whiskey, angostura, orange bitters, simple syrup, and black cherry served in a smoked glass.

Foundation Social Eatery and chef Mel Toledo haven’t skipped a beat since the relocation from Roswell to Alpharetta. The menu still features some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, including the crispy Spanish octopus, pate, PEI mussels, and chicken bolognese, along with new dishes like salt and sugar cured scallop crudo served with warm brown butter vinaigrette and turnip and ricotta tortelli filled with duck confit and pickled mushrooms. One of the freshest additions to Foundation Social Eatery, however, is a spacious covered patio, complete with an outdoor brick fireplace.
