It's Eater Cocktail Week, and we've already covered such topics as the hottest bars in town at this very moment. Now, we move on to the very first Atlanta Cocktail Confidential, a map of bartenders' favorite under-the-radar spots to frequent when they're not slinging drinks at their own establishments. Read on, drink up, and do leave other worthy lesser-known bars in the comments.

Southern Comfort Restaurant & Lounge

Jason Kemp, The Family Dog, TImone's: "Being from the south-side of Atlanta, I find great enjoyment frequenting bars within the nitty gritty underbelly of our fair city. If we are feeling adventurous after work, its always decent to travel way down Moreland to the Southern Comfort. This place is a bona fide trucker bar and one of the perks of drinking there is that when here, I don't feel the pressure to imbibe crafted cocktails, just a shot of whisky and a domestic beer will suffice for me. The barkeeps are always pleasant and down to earth." [Photo]

Mr. C's

Arianne Fielder, Article 14: "My favorite bar to go to after work happens to be the same dive bar I've been going to since I was in college at Georgia Tech. I love this little dive off of Howell Mill Rd called Mr. C's. It's smoky and seedy with a lot of fun regular characters that you share a brew with every night. In addition to the usual PBR or champagne of beers, they also carry my favorite local brew— Monday Night's Fu Manbrew— just for me! The bartenders are really friendly and I always feel at home there." [Photo]

Bottle Rocket

Julian Goglia, The Pinewood Tippling Room: "I absolutely love Bottle Rocket. It’s a little neighborhood bar & sushi spot downtown. The bartenders have huge personalities and will refuse to let anyone leave without having a great time. You’d be a fool to not try a Cold Toddy with a Bubblegum Roll." [Photo]

Hangbok - Happy Karaoke

Bradford Tolleson, Restaurant Eugene: "One place that has become infamous in certain circles is Hangbok Happy Karaoke. They place fruit platters and kettles of Yogurt Soju inconspicuously in your private karaoke room that is lit up with disco lights and cheesy images flashing across a big screen television. The kettles of Yogurt Soju will ruin your morning, but that doesn’t stop anyone." [Photo]

Navarro Carr, The Sound Table: "I really enjoy going to 529 in East Atlanta because they have really great shows within an intimate environment." [Photo]

Joystick Gamebar

Navarro Carr, The Sound Table (again): "Not sure if you consider Joystick a dive bar, but I have a good time there, too. Good beer, cocktails and back bar in general; plus Ms. Pac-Man is all a man could possible want from a dive bar." [Photo]

The BookHouse Pub

Lara Creasy, beverage consultant and designer the cocktail menu at King + Duke and the forthcoming St. Cecilia: "At Bookhouse Pub, I always run into either Greg Best or Paul Calvert every time I'm here. They have a good beer selection, make a proper cocktail and show great movies too." [Photo]

Michael Searles, bar manager at Cibo e Beve, also likes The Bookhouse Pub: "I don't know how well it's known, but I'm a huge fan of the Bookhouse. It's the comfortable lair I feel we all deserve. Great booze food, the occasional Tiki night, an awesome-yet-careful beer selection, and the greatest patio in the city. I've put a bunch of books on the shelves here, because it feels like a shared living room." [Photo]

Candler Park Market

Paul Calvert, Paper Plane: " I love biking over to see Jarret at Candler Park Market and David Sweeney on Sundays at Octane, Grant Park." Candler Park's got a speakeasy situation happening every Thursday. [Photo]
